Sable is a survivor- she was one of a group of dogs dumped in a desolate area, and left to fend for themselves. How these dogs made it through this hardship, left alone in the cold, with other animals hunting them, and little available food and water, is hard to understand. But they did, and Sable is one of the lucky dogs that has come into Labs4rescue, and thrived. Sable is a sweet and sassy girl, 3-4 years old at 45 pounds, black lab mix. Her foster moms call her "Princess" behind her back because she prances around with her head held high, sharp eyes always looking to see what's going on in the house. Her hair is longish as opposed to short, and her ears are silky. Sable is a wonderful dog, who has overcome the challenges faced while being a dog without a home, a dog without a family to care for her. Her foster mom says she gets along well with everyone, resident dog and cats included. She has done well with kids. She is house broken and crate trained, rides well in the car, low to medium activity and has become quite affectionate. Yet Sable is a dog who adapts to these new situations, and is a quick study of what is expected of her and what is not. The perfect family for Sable will be one that has someone home a good part of the day. One that believes that exercise is key to a happy dog. Maybe they will have children or another dog that is looking for a buddy to play with, but not one too big, as Sable is a "fluffy" girl. A "princess," if you will. Sable is a love of a pup, hoping her new family will find her soon. She is eager and ready for her forever home, so please ask us all about her!
